Power counting for nuclear forces in chiral effective field theory

The present note summarizes the discourse on power counting issues of chiralnuclear forces, with an emphasis on renormalization-group invariance. Given itsintroductory nature, I will lean toward narrating a coherent point of view onthe concepts, rather than covering comprehensively the development of chiralnuclear forces in different approaches.
